Season 10- Making Gold Now!

Hey folks!

Good news and bad news for the PvP folks out there. Did you turn in your Conquest points for the i365 gear? If so, you just got "punked" as Azuriel would say. They covered a great post on the changes, take a few moments and click over to read it: OT- Welcome to the C Team.

With that aside, are you once again clammoring (is that even a word?) to get your enchants, leg armor, gems and the like posted and ready for sale? Most folks haven't stopped selling them, in fact, I know for a fact that a few people must have run out by now, as the sales on everything "enchant" has been amazing (as expected).

But now, with all the PvP'ers grabbing up new gear(s), there is that much more of a need for us to sell off our stock. I do want you to remember that although you are selling a ton of mats/stock, YOU STILL NEED TO RESTOCK.

Reinvest all that coin that you are making, and continue to bank. If you don't, someone else will. If your stock is running low anywhere, don't fret, sell till you have nothing. Ore prices will drop again, enchanting mats will hit their pricepoint (due to all the D/E'ing folks that just sell mats and don't enchant themselves). You may see a "creeping" of enchant mats though, once again, don't fret. They will subside and you will be snatching them up at normal prices, just be patient....

Now this post may seem somewhat generic, but if you slacked on posting lately since the patch, get your guns back up and show your face in the Auction House and getcha sum sales!

Stockpiling for 4.2- Tanks? You're Welcome!

Hey folks!

Instead of me hyping up what you are needing to stockpile for 4.2 and making a killer long post that you will only read part of, I am giving some link love to a few other bloggers, so we will see what they are looking for. After you do some clicking around, c'mon back and see what I am working with...

So what Blizz announced, or not really announced, is that you need to complete quests to even get into Firelands? Sounds vaguely familiar....Ok, let's get a bit further into what is out there...Patch 4.2 Preview, a Blizz video (below), and a bunch of comments everywhere. But frankly, I am basically as lost now as I was an hour ago when I started writing this post....- CONTINUED-

Mageshadow from JMTC- Stockpile TrueGold
Well folks today is a rather big gold making tip for patch 4.2. Patch 4.2 is bringing a ton of new recipes & I was browsing through some of ptrwowhead stuff and I was looking at Truegold. I found a number of items that will require insane amount of truegold in 4.2. I found a total of 7 Blacksmithing Craftables and 2 Engineering schematics that will need Truegold for 4.2. Below are all the items and their respective PTR Wowhead links. -CONTINUED-

I've been looking at the list of new profession recipes for patch 4.2 at Wowhead and have come up with a list of items to start stockpiling. Now the information we have so far is very prelimenary so this list is also preliminary, and might change as new information becomes available. If I change what I'll  be stockpiling I will make another post about it. -CONTINUED

I have been stockpiling trade goods in preparation for patch 4.2, with the various new items coming I intend to make a profit by preparing. Here are some screenshots of some of my current stockpiled materials [to give you an idea of what I think is worth Stockpiling]
I am sure there are more that have wrote a bit, so please holler in comments if I forgot about you and you have quality content, as these are just a few of the ones I have seen, and probably missed some others....
Alright, are you ready to hear what I am stockpiling? Drum roll, please......how about nothing?! I know, wait a sec, hear me out.
Through doing the "Shuffle", I have quite a few Blue Cata Gems (around a tab full) that are just collecting dust in a guild bank, which will be crafted and put on the AH, and I will probably be resetting the market on Inferno Rubies, Amberjewels, and Ocean Sapphires for those in need:

I also keep a normal Stockpile (if you will) of Volatiles. Although small quantities, these are mainly for when I see the prices fluctuate, I will post them up or buy them out. One that I have been holding onto is Volatile Earth. Why is that? Well, for our fellow Plate Tanks. There is a "new" leg armor that will be available, the Drakehide Leg Armor. Those that read the patch notes know that in 4.2, well....there are some changes. Instead of me explaining, here's a few comments from wowhead:
By Orranis (2·13·47) 11 days ago (Patch 4.1.0)
This is the obvious step taken to make tank pants enchants not worthless after the change to Agility not providing dodge in 4.2.

By Nathanyel (3·24·277) 10 days ago (Patch 4.1.0)
Of course this only applies to the plate tanks, bears are still better off with a Charscale Leg Armor - you get less Dodge out of the Agility than with this one, but the Agility also gives you Crit and AP, which improve your Savage Defense.

See where I am going with this? There will be quite a market for these on your server, so if you have a leatherworker, or know one, make sure and get this pattern asap, and get them tossed up on the AH. *It seems that this is a pattern bought using 10 Heavy Savage Leather from your trainer, so you might want to stock them up JIC.

Now as the other folks mentioned in the posts above, there are new craftables in nearly every profession that pops. New PvP gear for Blacksmiths/Leatherworkers/Tailors that will be quick sales, A few Engineering recipies, and a mess of "here and there's". Most of those will be using Volatile Fire and Volatile Water, so tell you what, do your homework, and stockpile your own little chunk of what you plan to make right away. Deal?

I cannot emphasize this enough. MAKE SURE YOU ARE FIRST ON YOUR SERVER TO SELL THESE GOODS! If you are resetting the market on "x" material, make sure and keep a tight eye on them. Patches are a great chance to make some killa gold, are you going to be in that group? Or wishing a week into it that you did?

Stockpiling- Do you Know When? How? Why?

*Edit After reading around this morning, I saw that Markco posted about "dog-piling", and that falls along jumping in and around markets. If you haven't read his post, go chickity-check it out.

Stockpiling. It's something that most of us do at one time or another. But do you really know when to do it? How to do it? Or why you do it? Do you even realize that you do it?

We all know the Darkmoon Faire is happening right now. If you don't, then you probably aren't a Scribe. I am going to use this as an example...most specifically, volatile life. But I will get back to this in a bit.

First I want to hit on market fluctuation. See the pic above? Yeah. Low server is 2'ish and high server is 14ish gold. A little bit of a difference there? Volatile life ferr shur. Let's get back to Stockpiling then come back to this "snowfall" screen.

If you ever "stockpiled" for the Faire, then you either A.) have been watching the herb markets (probably Whiptail due to having the highest investment/return), you have been watching the Card prices, as well as deck prices. B.) You have been buying up cheap cards to make decks (or to flip singles) C.) You have been buying up cheap Inferno Ink and Blackfallow Ink to convert.

Now dive a bit deeper: D.) Stockpiling Volatile Life. Why? On most servers, this item fluctuates more than Illinois weather does in a day. Midnight, you might see some posted for 17g each (1). Early morning? They drop to 8g (2). By the time you get your morning coffee, they are back to 13.5g (3). Noonish? Back to just shy of 9g each (4). By the time you order your take out for dinner, they are around 10g (5).

They are moving at every one of these prices too. Let's just do some quick math on this. You buy some at the 8g when you get up for work. You post them before you go back to work for 13.5g. 1600g investment. By the time you get home from work, they have sold at the 13.5g pricepoint. 2700g. 1100g profit on one item. Now some might say no way this happens, but I want you to look and see the "volatile" life of Volatile Life during this week. When to buy, when to sell...

Actually, I think that last paragraph covers Why as well. Why do we stockpile? Of course it all boils down to profitability with gold. Do you watch your markets? Do you know when, how and why to buy and resell?

Hopefully this post helps explain things for you. If you were having questions or issues, I hope that this gives you a bit of understanding and insight. Now go play the AH or something, would ya?!

Stockpiling for 4.2 - - - - Through Questing?

So with a decent sized storm hitting us right now, tornado sirens going off, DirecTV glitching (as usual) and everything watched on Netflix that was worth watching (Free for All is hilarious btw), I decided to search a bit on 4.2. What I came across from a Blue Post was intriguing to say the least....

Hopefully you can see that, if not, you can check the forums here for the actual post....c'mon back when you are done reading it....

Did you see the same thing that I did?

you'll need be level 85 and already completed enough quests in Mount Hyjal to have reclaimed the Regrowth area

So what Blizz announced, or not really announced, is that you need to complete quests to even get into Firelands? Sounds vaguely familiar....Ok, let's get a bit further into what is out there...Patch 4.2 Preview, a Blizz video (below), and a bunch of comments everywhere. But frankly, I am basically as lost now as I was an hour ago when I started writing this post....

So I read through them, and cannot find anything on current quests needed other than "Reclaiming the Regrowth" quest and a spattering of Mark of the World Tree currency for dailies completed....

So with all the info out there, what conclusion did you come to? Are you on your way back to Mount Hyjal to complete every single quest there? Or this "reclaim" quest that isn't there yet?....dun, dun, dun.....or is it?

Stockpiling for 4.0.6 - And Beyond..

FYI- I just added a "review" box to the left so you can leave a quick comment or review if you are a follower. I appreciate it if you decide to, sometimes people just don't have time to leave a full comment, so this is a great addition! Thanks again for reading!

Hey folks. I had to change a few things on your original post for today after reading Syntalatings' post over at Auction House Raids (great post, great site. If you haven't visited there, go check it out!). They are basically doing an experiment on cornering the whole Cata enchant market to "level" out the prices to a more mat friendly base. Keep posted on their site, you can bookmark yourself or keep tabs on my blogroll at the side of the page. It will be extrememly interesting to see how that works out! Capped by Cata just hit on another style of Stockpiling recently, if you haven't read that article, head on over!

I want to hit on one more thing before getting rolling on this topic.  I want to take a moment to thank all my followers and my comment'ers. I try to give you information that you can use, and being a blogger, I spend quite a bit of time on my posts, and like to see that if you take the time to read my post, please toss a comment below, as that is my main goal of every post, to make you think. And remember, there are folks out there that probably can use that information, and if you keep it to yourself, you won't be able to help them...make sense? I hope so.

As of late, I have been *Editing my posts with additional information I see in the comments, and I give credit to the author. So please try to not post as Anonymous as I want to give credit where credit is due (we had an issue yesterday with me responding to one anonymous when there were two of them. sorry!). So when you do leave a comment, or even if you just read the article, check back every now and then because the original post changes. Deal? Or No Deal? (bad reference there, I got bored of that show when it came out on a slot machine, and I lost a few hundo to it...instant blacklist...haaha). Ok, enough mumbo jumbo, get to the topic already!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now you know that I have been buying up Pyrite Ore for quite some time (under 200 a stack), and currently have three bank tabs. I am on hold right now, as I have an easy 50K easy wrapped up, and I feel that is sufficient. 4.0.6? Nah, these are being saved for later use, if/when Blizz releases epics out of prospecting. Will it happen? Yeah, I believe so. Soon? Who knows. I don't. But my guess is that it will happen, and when we least expect it.....

You have heard me talk about stocking up on Shadowspirit Diamonds. Yup. I got a few, actually about 50K in them as well. These will be a big hitter for me come 4.0.6 drop. If you are a chanter, are you saving up? I only really recommend this if you are willing to pay an exorbitant price for the new formula's, as they will hit the AH, and I feel that 10-15K will be a starting price for these. If you haven't been paying too much attention, here's the new ones coming:

Agile Shadowspirit Diamond (Agility/3% critical damage)
Reverberating Shadowspirit Diamond (Strength/3% critical damage)
Burning Shadowspirit Diamond (Intellect/3% critical damage)

Now these new recipes are unbound and can drop from any Cataclysm creature. We do not know the droprate, but I am guessing they will be pretty rare. Also, the new meta gems have a requirement of 3 red gems equipped, so stock up on the Inferno Ruby gems as well, as I see their sales to be consistent, and raise a bit in price when the patch hits

You can see that this tab is my overrun of gems, and I have been cutting and selling quite a few "reds" already (thus the small stock of Infernos), and for the "flip" with them, it's hard to pass up 300g on the cuts, as I feel that is near the top of the price for these, even after 4.0.6. As of yesterday, I finially have competition on the two cuts that I owned the market on, so I will let them bleed the market a bit so I can get about 100 in stock (should be a day or two, as I just picked up a Elementium Ore farmer- so my blue gem stock will raise a bit).

Glyphs. Now I am not going to go too far indepth on this one, as I am not focusing on stockpiling them, as I have a revolving stock, and I try to keep quite a bit of herb/ink available, at times, even farming my own. Don't get me wrong, I love the AH, and cost/GPH is normally against this, but it is relaxing to go out and farm for an hour or so every once in a while, especially in Sholozar Basin, as I have zero competition with herbing there.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now there are some out there that are Stockpiling Volatile Life. Not that I am against this, but I feel the prices are not going to move signifigantly enough to take up the space in my bank for this. I am not saying to stay away from them, as I do buy them up when I see them less than 5g each, but I only have a few stacks in the bank of these. I make quite a few of Notched Jawbone, Silver Inlaid Leaf, and Tattooed Eyeball (which are fairly consistent sellers), and once in a great while, Darkmoon Card of Destruction, so my stock is always cruising around, but never enough to consider it a "stockpile".

Is there something that you are stocking up on?
Why are you doing it?
How long are you willing to keep them?
If you are, how much is too much (quantity and/or price)?
How long are you willing to wait before enough is enough, and you just sell off?
