TSM- I Betcha Didn't Use TradeSkillMaster for This!

Hey folks!

Not everyone uses TradeSkillMaster, but if you are or even consider yourself a Goblin, an AH'er, or....heh, heh, are a gold blogger that doesn't use TSM to sell your goods, you are waaaaaay behind the times. Download it from Curse, donate to Sapu and co. and set it up already!

Now to my point of this post. Since most of my readers are using TSM for something, whether it's for your Gemmies, Chants, Gear Crafting, or Scribbling, I am probably guessing you had no idea what else to use it for.....Vendoring Flips (but I am also guessing that the cocky fuckers are gonna say "I have been doing that for a long time".....but I call bullshit on that one).

Do you buy and re-sell vendor goods? I am talking anything from Obsidium Hatchlings to Transmute: Primal Might. From Recipe: Redridge Goulash to Pattern: Comfortable Insoles. Whatever niche you hit, there's a quick way to post these...

Familiar with TSM? Easy to setup. The pics are from my Scribe....So bear with me a second:

Step 1: Go into your category (in this case, 4.2 glyphs in the pic below). Control click your "vendor goods" (in this case, my fermulah's) and go to the little Add button. *poof* They magically appear on the right side...Amazing, huh? No? Okay. It's still cool.

Step 2: POST!

*You can see it's auto undercut to your settings in your group (or just make a new group, but I am showing you the easiest way, remember?)

Step 3: UHHHHH?!?!!?!

*Yes, my "fallback" when no glyphs are in the AH is 322g 55s. And yes, they do sell at that price....

Now if you do the quick and easy route, the vendor recipies/formulas, pets/etc, that you are selling will have an autofallback to your settings for the rest of the group.

I would recommend setting up a new group for your main "vendor" toon with all your route items. You might want to set up a specific group for the more "rare" formulas, one for pets, one for "generics" like good ol' fishing poles, whatever your liking. However if you are just doing a few, and not a hundred, just follow the steps above for a quick cancel/repost, scans, ect. Did I mention I love TSM?!

If you are new to the vendor flipping market, there are a few addons you might like. I have used Recipe Profit for Gathermate for some time, but it's broke since 4.3. A little searching showed "Recipe Radar", which claims to be updated for 4.3, so a test might be in order on that one. If you hate addons, here are a few posts dedicated to vendor runs that are on my favorites:

Kathro's Thunder Bluff
Sinshroud's Outland Supply

Please, please be careful when doing this. You want to make sure to check all your settings before you go posting something for 5g when you should be getting 500 if no auctions are up. Feel me? What's the saying, measure twice, cut once? Yeah. Do that here.

Hope you learned something today kiddos. Now leave an apple at my desk when the bell rings. No homework for tomorrow, but you have a test next week.

Now that I am thinking about it, Sapu, I wonder how hard it might be to rock out a  VendorMaster Addon? It's a stretch, but would be interesting nonetheless.

Got Mill? Milling Search Made Easy With TSM

Ok, ok. I know some of you folks stay away from TSM like the plague. And once again, I really don't blame you. It is definitely an add-on that I love to hate. For those that don't want to mess with it to "find" mats in the AH (when making glyphs), there is an easier way...

When you open up TSM from your Auction House screen, you can look to the right "window" that appears and mouse down till you see the tootip for "Shopping-Milling/DE/Prospecting". Now click.

Now you are going to see this window take it's place. See the little milling icon? Mouse over that, you will see the mini-window to shop for items to mill, then click. Directly below the "s" on items, there is an arrow to drop the menu down......

Once you "drop down" the menu, you will see a list that you can choose which ink you are searching for. With this "addon inside an addon", when you pick the ink, it will show:

Materials to Mill (Herbs)
Any Pigments needed for the ink
The ink itself

Now below you will see the exact cost per ink (it starts from the cheapest the AH has). If you have your "browse" tab on Auctioneer open, you will see a quick scan of every available mat, and if you are prone to seizures, I warn you to watch out, as they fly through the options very quickly. Now, you just have to click the "BUY" tab to purchase the goods at the price listed.

*Be extremely careful what you purchase and at what price, as you never know if someone jacked up the price on them.

*Below the information listed (what the item is and purchase price), you will see another small window with a bit of data for you: Total Spent This Session, Inks Bought this Session, and Average Cost Per Ink this Session.

Hope this little bit of info helps you in your Got Mill? needs, and help you rock out more Glyphs to sell in the AH. You might also want to hit up reselling the inks if there is too much competition on your server with glyphs....

TSM and Alto...Friends at Last- Thanks Nev and Zoxy!

Hey folks. You have heard much disregard from me on TSM. Not that I am bashing the addon, but that I wasn't too keen to the idea behind it.

I guess the best way to describe it is that there were too many things going on for poor Alto to handle. In order to just set things up, you have literally 20 screens to get things rocking. Nev from Auction House Addicts did a post earlier in the week on how [she?] uses TSM for all her glyph posting and how well it has worked for her.

Being the stubborn WoW player that I am, I feel that addons are around to make our lives easier, not to take an hour to setup, have issues throughout (unknown vendor purchases anyone?), and just at an utter loss on the supposed "ease of use".

To dive deeper into it, I basically didn't want to spend the time to get it setup myself, almost thinking "my way" was better than the program. A few bloggers posted "how to's", and that really just made my tiny brain more confused, so I wrote it off. Until Nev. I commented on her post asking if she can make a "how to" that even a dumbfounded Alto can understand. Yesterday, she posted the first part on how to set up the addon. It took about 20 minutes to set up, and I was extremely surprised on the actual "ease" of it. I am 100% positive that it was due to her writing and explaining each step thoroughly that made sense to me this time.

Today, she finished her Part Deux of the post on glyphing, and all is good. I thought. I run into another issue (go figure....), I am not able to "buy" my crafts, my TSM is only grabbing Lion's Ink glyphs, JEEBUS! Did I mention I really, really hate this addon?! Luckily, Zoxy popped onto Skype, and after an hour of messing around, we finially figured out the issue(s).

To make a long story short, due to not paying attention to Nev's guide, I missed a tiny spot (clicking the enable all crafts) that jacked me up to no end (not to mention a few other issues). So please follow everything in AHA's guide, and you will be ready to rock.

If you work TSM, you will be happy. It does take quite a bit of time for setup, quite a bit more time to craft, but the Auction part is what I am really pleased with. Posting, cancelling, reposting. The time I am saving here will "pay" for my time setting up the whole deal.

So for all those that are "skeered" about getting into this addon, all the trouble that it takes to start when you get it set up, it makes life sooo much easier. As long as TSM is working, it will be working for me.

Thanks again Nev and Zoxy. And once again, if you have been against this addon, believe me, it is worth it. If you can figure the damn addon out. I truly wish you the best of luck. You will need it...

As a reminder, JMTC is having their Friday Night Special going on, so write down some questions, and c'mon over! There are a handful of AH pro's available to answer you gold making issues at the beginning, then it's open "mic" for general gold'ish chat. See you there!
