So, You Haven't Logged In For A While.....Alto's Top 10

Hey folks!

Today marks quite some time since I logged in, and I am writing as my Auction scan is rolling (another tip that will save a bit of time in-between).

So what do you do when you haven't graced Azeroth in a while? Well, first, I am figuring that I lost all that was in my mailbox, as it was bone dry. Hrrmpf...

But I figured that I would put together a "Top 10'ish" that you might want to check out and do to get you back in the normal scheme of things, and what the hell, you might as well just check to see if these things are in your normal ritual.

1. Log into each toon:
Check your mail, refresh your mind on what you have in your bags, your bank, etc. You will want to make a quick run to the trainers as well in case it has been a patch or two since you have been on last. Just to make sure....Hotfixes and Updates to the game will at times include some chings you might have missed out on.

2. Check the AH:
Scan, Scan, Scan. Manual, FF, and on each Addon (Auctionator, Auctioneer, TSM, whathaveyou). And of course, hit up your visual scan to refresh your mind on any new items, any new pricing/jumps, etc. You can of course use [and I also recommend this too] to check up on The Undermine Journal, WoWTrader, or AHSpy for more individual ebb and flows.

3. Server Forums:
This is highly advised, as it will give you an insight on to what is happening on your server. Check for PvP, raid progression, rare items, folks with a list (yeah, it's on all server forums on battle.net) of new craftable professions. This can and will assist you on checking/estimating the new sellable crafts and if you can flip in the AH.

4. BLOGS! Errr......Google!:
Look to the right on this page (if you are on anything but an RSS feed right now) and you will see my blogroll. Click through them, see if something pops out. If you are following down the list, there might be something specific you are looking to find out more information on. So almighty Google will find an answer for you. If not, email one of the folks on the blogroll, and they should be able to help you out.

5. IRC channels:
IRC. I have no clue what it is, maybe internet real chat, indescribable rickrolled confirmation...or <insert the correct answer here>. Whatever you call it, it's a good thing. The Consortium has one, JMTC has one, and most major guilds/websites have links somewhere. If you have ever used one, I am sure you remember where to go. Ask what's new, chat around, and find out the scoop!

6. Twitter/Facebook/Reddit
Ah the glory of social media. I hit on it a bit above, but by all means, check out you friends/follows/etc. There are quite a few bloggers that are always hitting up twitter with some quick info for the masses. I think there are a few facebookers, but not as many as twitter. And Reddit, well, is kind of a messy mass of info (from my experience at least).

7. Re-live the past:
This sounds really cheesy, but I read my past posts. One favorite is using the search function, and type in Alto's PoV , or Alto's Routine, or just click on that. It has quite a few posts that are worthy of reading through, although some are a bit old with info, the basis of the post still remains.

I am running outta time, so I will let the great readers of this blog add in 8, 9, and 10 with their ideas. If you have a good idea that I missed (and I probably did), holler out in comments!

Thanks folks, and see you soon!

Did I miss the other 3? The title says Top 10 but there are only 7 items. Also, IRC = Internet Relay Chat.

Anonymous,

I know my writing is horrible, but if you didn't just skim it you would have read that I was opening up the next three for reader submission.
