Cata Darkmoon Cards- Fighting Competition with Singles? This is the Time to Buy!

WoW. Talk about common sense. But as you know by now, I cover alot of information that is. Alot of times, there are things that I have forgotten about, or things that I should be doing but don't. Does this happen to you as well? I mean, there is a reason I call it The Worst WoW Blog Ever......

Last night, while I was selling a bunch of Mysterious Fortune Cards, I hit the AH, and I noticed a few things. One, when I searched the quest tab, there were a TON of cards listed, even more than normal (there are alot of Scribes on my server). So I started typing. Of Waves. Of Embers. Of Stones. Of Winds. And to my surprise, I was able to pick up a few items:

Ace of Waves:  1800g
Two of Waves: 1200g
Three of Waves: 655g
Four of Waves: Already had it.
Five of Waves: 725g
Six of Waves: 800g
Seven of Waves: 975g
Eight of Waves: 2200g

*Ok, this is meant to sound like a cheer, so bear with me, mmmkay? (see the south park reference there too? see, funny, right?)

Put em together and whaddya get? Tsunami Deck!
Turn it in and what does it make? Darkmoon Card: Tsunami!
Now AH and how did it sell? 35,000g!
P-R-O-F-I-T! Yeaaaaaaaahh profit!

When I hit my mailbox this morning, there were a slew of female goblins cheering this. All for me.
*ok, not really, but it went along with my story...

Total Invested: 8355g
Sold: 34K
Profit: 25"ish" thousand gold (minus out my "free" card that I already had- selling for 600g)

Now I spent almost 30K on cards last night, only missing one card on three other decks. If you are a loyal reader, you can see that I really don't get into making these cards, only a few here and there, as the Inferno Inks sell quite well, and at my "sold" price for the inks, a single card is costing a bit over  2K to make. So I decided it was in my best interest to let others make them, fight in the AH, and take a loss. Alto Wins. =)

So I would advise you to check this out on your server (if you aren't already). You don't have to be a scribe, all you need is a bit of pocket change and be able to add (and subtract) to see if this will be profitable (my guess is you will find it is). Let me know how it works for you!

woo hoo - nice find :) Gonna keep my eyes peeled now too - I'm still trying to max my inscription so for now, this is my only access to these cards.

Damn dude - that's nice. You can bet I'm doing some DMC hunting tonight! In the 20 minutes I had to play last night, I transferred 30k to the Horde side of the server to grab some epics (H:A is higher than 5:1).

One is for me, the other I'm gonna try to sell. I gave the money to a guildie, so I think I'm gonna have to make a Horde toon or two and park em in BB and Ogr to deal with the leftover gold.

I would like to get my scribe up to 75 so I can start making these myself, but with the time that would take, and with your advice, flipping these cards sounds like a much better idea! A decent amount of people seem to want to get rid of their cards right now (I think I saw someone selling a Hurricane Deck for 18k), so now is definitely a good time to invest. Glad to see it paid off for you! Hopefully it'll work out the same for me!
