Not sure if this just became available in 4.0.1 or not, but I just logged onto one of my toons a few minutes ago (haven't played her in a loooong time) and I see that you can now "find" both herbs and veins at the same time using the finder tab in your minimap.
This makes me extremely happy. Not only come Cata will you be able to pick all the new herbs but you will also be able to level your mining at the same time.....whats that saying about killing two birds with one stone? Yeah. We can do that now. Happy days ahead.

I am glad to see that a few other WoW bloggers caught onto this idea as well, they were just a day late and a dollar short....you saw it here first! =)
