Using Gathermate2 Addon for Finding Treasure Chests

We got ourselves a Situation here folks...

Okay, okay. Not everyone raids (although the LFR is helping that). Not everyone PvP's (but our options are growing larger every patch). Not everyone Quests. Not everyone farms.

However, almost everyone needs to fly from point A to point B. With Transmog in 4.3, you are probably seeing a ton of chatter in /2 about "running x dungeon, old school achievements and mogg". Or you are farming old instances yourself for loot. Amirite?

Any way you look at it, why not pick up some free loot (blues) that you would normally pass by? Gathermate2 Addon will do just that. Just don't forget to load up Gathermate2 Data as well. It will allow you to already have a stockpile of information on nodes that folks have already found, so you can start your treasure search from download. =)

As you can see from the picture above, there are quite a few tabs and options to choose from: Archaeology, Fishing, Gas Clouds, Herbalism, Mining and Treasure. Use those tabs to choose your liking (this especially helps your engineer toon as well).

Remember, one doesn't work without the other, so make sure and have both situated all nice and cozy in your addons folder.

Oh, and while you are running around looking for treasure, do not forget to have NPC Scan (for Rare Mobs). You never know, you just might find one of them too (I just happened upon Blazewing while taking screenshots for this post..). I did a multiple part series on that addon, you can find it here at: Cata Rare Spawns- NPC Scan.

Or, if you don't like addons and just rely purely on skill and luck, you can always hit up Griftah on Darkmoon Island or in the Lower City in Shatt for your Talisman of True Treasure Tracking. Not guaranteed to work as well as the add-on though...

That's a great addon, Alto! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I've already found a lot more treasure chests in Northrend than I had ever thought of.
